The story of your partnership. The heartbeat of your wedding.

A self-guided course to create a wedding that tells your true story.

Identify the moments that make you who you are and build a day that feels like YOU, not a performance!

  • Identify the Core Story that defines your partnership.

  • Integrate your Core Story into your wedding design.

  • Gather a team that supports who you are, not what society says you should be.

  • Create a celebration you won't forget and will want to remember.

Your story is bigger than your wedding day.

Your partnership and love started before this day and will last long after it’s over. A wedding day that matters is one that honors where you’ve been and where you’re going, both together and as individuals.

That’s what the Story Driven Wedding is about.

These exercises will help you find the big picture to your day. Once you have your story as a couple, you can make choices that will help you create a day that will sing. You’ll know that no matter what happens you said a true thing about your life and declared your love—even if that means you elope with just a photographer and a grocery store cake!

“It’s a relief to distinguish between what we care about and what the wedding industry says we should care about.”

-Laura and Kip

What’s In A Story Driven Wedding

Chapter 1: Discover Your Story

Your story is the North Star for your wedding. It’s the place you are aiming to go. It determines your ability to stay on course. From there, you can create a wedding and even a life together that is true to who you are.

Chapter 2: Decide What Matters

It gave us so much freedom to give away tasks that didn’t matter to us, take control of the parts that we’d regret not getting right, and actually enjoy both the planning and the day itself.

Chapter 3: Build a Team

No one can survive a wedding on their own. Assembling the right team of friends, loved ones, and professionals is key to making sure that your story stays the guiding light.

Chapter 4: Make It Your Own

The pressure is off. You aren’t going to have a perfect wedding so you don't have to try. You don’t have to do it all as our society defines it. Success is an imperfect wedding that is perfectly your own.

“We shared our story with honesty and depth. So many people told us that it was the most touching and emotional wedding ceremony they've ever attended.”

—Lee and Kathelia

“I just officiated my best friend’s wedding with the help of Story Driven Wedding! We used the story prompts to help shape their vows and pull out their most cherished stories. And while the groom grumbled a bit, I found out that he secretly told his friends how much he loved the exercises in the course — and even recommended it to another couple with upcoming nuptials. Thank you for making my job as an officiant so easy! I plan to sit down with my fiancé and do the same this year!”

Remember why it is you’ve gone to so much trouble… You’re getting married! There’s a day ahead that’s a shimmering slice of your mysterious destiny. All you’ve got to do is show up.
